The challenge
De spelen is a social enterprise using games to connect people in neighborhoods, schools, and events. The challenge was to make that energy and accessibility tangible online without creating clutter. Their offering is broad, ranging from game facilitation to full play days, so it needed to be presented in a clear, inspiring way. We also needed visitors to browse easily, get inspired, and reach out quickly, with a smooth mobile experience.
Our approach
Translated Oscar Keuter's (100mm) colourful design into a consistent set of UI components, with attention to dynamism and accessibility.
Built the structure around the game catalogue, so visitors can quickly orient themselves and move on to contact.
Worked out content hierarchy and page layout so inspiration and practical information reinforce each other.
Configured the CMS with flexible content blocks, making the catalogue easy to expand and keep current.
Took performance into account throughout, keeping the site fast and responsive despite rich visuals.
